Bird Flu At OUAT Farm In Bhubaneswar!

Bhubaneswar: An incident of bird flu in a poultry farm inside the Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT) premises in Bhubaneswar has come to the notice of the media.

According to media reports, some chickens in the farm were found dead inside recently. Suspecting the sudden and unusual deaths, the OUAT authorities had sent blood and stool samples of the dead chickens to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (HSADL) in Bhopal and these were tested positive.

The OUAT authorities later dug a pit to dump the remaining chickens in the farm after culling them.

While the OUAT authorities have not made the incident public, reliable sources said that they have had a meeting with the Animal Resources Department and the Health Secretary following the incident.
