Angul: A ride to Budhi Thakurani temple to seek blessings on birthday turned tragic for Subham Sahu of Matigadia Village under Chhendipada police limits in the district on Thursday.
According to sources, Subham, his mother Kavita Sahu and a relative had gone to the temple on a two-wheeler. As they left the left and took the national highway-55, a truck rammed into them. Subham and Kavita, who were riding pillion, died on the spot, while the relatives sustained serious injuries in the accident.
On being informed, Angul police reached the spot and seized the two vehicles. The truck driver has been detained for interrogation, the sources added.
