VIJAYAWADA: Biswa Bhusan Harichandan took oath as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, High Court Acting Chief Justice C Praveen Kumar and other VIPs attended the programme.
Foolproof security arrangements were made for the swearing-in ceremony. Only the vehicles of the Chief Minister and Chief Justice were allowed into Raj Bhavan, and all the remaining invitees were requested to reach the main gate in their vehicles and enter the Raj Bhavan through battery cars or by foot, a report published in The Hindu said.
Ahead of the swearing-in, Biswa Bhusban had visited Tirumala Temple in Tirupati on Tuesday to seek the blessings of Lord Balaji. He was accompanied by his family members.
