New Delhi: A human skull and bones were found in the bag of a ‘sadhvi’ who was trying to board a flight from Indore to travel to Delhi. The ‘sadhvi’ who hails from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh did not have permission to board the flight with human remains.
When the CISF and police personnel interrogated Sadhvi Yogmata Sachdeva, she said that she is taking the ashes of a fellow monk to Haridwar for immersion in the Ganga, India Today reported.
The staff who opened her bag for luggage scanning were shocked to find a skull and bones inside her bag. The staff then informed the airport authorities.
The Indore airport management stopped her from carrying the skull and bones in her baggage. They in turn informed the police.
Later, while the ‘sadhvi’ went to Delhi on another flight, other sadhus took the ashes and skull to Haridwar by road.
The aerodrome police station in charge Rahul Sharma told India Today, “Police questioned the Sadhvi. She said it was of her late guru and she was on her way to Haridwar to immerse it along with other remains in the Ganga.”
