Bhubaneswar: Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College authorities in Odisha capital have banned the entry of outsiders into the campus days after three students were injured in a stabbing incident.
The college authorities have put up posters at all the entry points cautioning the outsiders against entering the campus without any official purpose, sources said.
This apart, the gate adjacent to the college hostel has been locked up to ensure the safety and security of the inmates.
The college authorities have also decided to install CCTV cameras at certain places to maintain a close watch on the movement of people on the college premises.
An expert team has been formed for the installation of CCTV camera, while the college authorities have also decided to write to the department concerned for wire fencing of the playground.
Security personnel deployed at the college have been instructed to allow entry of students with uniform and ID cards into the campus. They have also been asked to note down the name, mobile number and vehicle number of outsiders visiting the college for official purposes.
Welcoming the decision of the college authorities, a student said, “The move will make the campus a safer place.”
It may be noted here that three students of the college sustained injuries after being attacked by some miscreants following an argument over playing cricket on the college playground on Saturday. Eight persons have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.
