Bhubaneswar: The BJD has accused Union Education Minister of hatching a conspiracy to stop Odisha government’s BSKY health scheme.
BJD spokesman and MP Sasmit Patra, in a press release on Saturday, said the government’s Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) is one of the most successful health schemes in the country. Under the scheme, a man is entitled to medical treatment upto Rs 5 lakh and a woman upto Rs 10 lakh per annum.
“What is the problem of the Union Minister, if a poor family of Odisha gets benefits through BSKY health card? Pradhan is making a deliberate conspiracy to stop the scheme which has benefited crores of people of the state,” Patra said.
Stating that Pradhan has failed to come up with even a single welfare project for the people of his area during his tenure as Union Minister for the last 10 years, Patra said Pradhan should desist from telling lies to the people to hide his own failures.
The BJD leader further said the construction work of National Highway 55 from Cuttack to Sambalpur has not been completed till date. Despite being a Union Minister, Pradhan could not ensure timely completion of the NH which also goes through his area even as accidents on the stretch are reported on regular basis, he added.
