Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Saturday announced its candidates for three more Assembly constituencies in Odisha.
Chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, in a video release, announced that Rajendra Sahu will be the party candidate from Khurda constituency, Pradip Sahu from Begunia and Gautam Buddha Das from Bhograi seat.
Rajendra Sahu is the sitting MLA of BJD from Begunia in Khurda district while Buddha Das is the spokesman of the ruling party in the state.
The party has dropped present Khurda MLA Jyotirindranath Mitra and given the ticket to Sahu. Similarly, another sitting MLA Ananta Das of Bhograi has been replaced by Buddha Das. Anant was reportedly lobbying for a party ticket for his son.
However, suspense continues on its candidates for the remaining three seats of Khandapara, Nilagiri and Korei.
Earlier in the day, the BJP had released its fourth list of 8 candidates for Assembly elections in Odisha.
