Bhubaneswar: Hours after Congress released a list of four more candidates for assembly seats in Odisha, the ruling BJD on Monday announced nominees for Biramitrapur and Phulbani assembly constituencies.
The regional party has decided to field Angad Kanhar in place of sitting MLA Duguni Kanhar from Phulbani in Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat and Makhlu Ekka from Biramitrapur in Sundargarh parliamentary constituency.
Anup Kumar Sai of BJD had lost the 2014 elections to his rival BJP candidate Radharani Panda from Biramitrapur seat by a slander margin.
The BJD has already announced candidates for nine Lok Sabha and 53 assembly seats for 2019 elections to be held in four phases in the state, beginning April 11.
