Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal on Sunday announced the name of nine candidates for the Assembly elections in Odisha.
The announcement was made by the party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Naveen Niwas in the evening.
Of the nine candidates, four candidates are for the first phase poll scheduled on April 11, three candidates for the second phase poll on April 18 and two candidates for the third phase poll on April 23.
The four candidates for the first-phase polls are Pritam Padhi-Pottangi, Pradeep Dishari-Lanjigarh, Prakash Chandra Majhi-Jharigam and Mukund Sodhi-Malkangiri.
The three candidates for the second-phase polls are Kishore Mohanty-Brajarajnagar, Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo-Balangir and Pradip Behera-Loisingha while for the third-phase polls, the party has announced the name of Raseswari Panigrahi-Sambalpur and Rohit Pujari-Redhakhol.
