Bhubaneswar: Confident of a ‘historic’ victory in the upcoming elections, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday claimed that people of Odisha want Naveen Patnaik to become Chief Minister for a record sixth time in a row.
Claiming that the trust the people on Naveen Patnaik has grown significantly, BJD organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das said more than 10,000 people, including many professionals and national parties, have applied for party tickets for the coming polls.
“It is a matter of happiness that a large number of professionals and leaders of national political parties are also applying for BJD tickets. We strongly believe that BJD is moving towards a historic victory in this election with the blessings of 4.5 crore people of Odisha,” he said.
This huge number of applications shows that people’s trust and confidence in the leadership of Naveen Patnaik is increasing, Das said in a post on his X handle.
“The people of Odisha have already made up their mind to install Naveen Babu as the chief minister for the sixth time in a row,” he said, adding that BJD is all set to register a massive victory in the upcoming elections.
The BJD leader further said that all the national level survey reports in recent years have found Naveen Patnaik as the number 1 Chief Minister of the country.
Similarly, by winning more than 52 percent of the votes in the 2022 panchayat elections, BJD proved that it is the number 1 political party in the state, he said. All these reflect the love of 4.5 crore people of Odisha for BJD and the Chief Minister.
