Bhubaneswar: Faced with intense infighting after its electoral debacle in Odisha, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday constituted three new committees, apparently as part of efforts to keep the party united and strengthen the organisation.
As per an office order issued by BJD president Naveen Patnaik, the new panels have been formed to assist the coordination committee of the party which was constituted on August 5.
While a 17-member advisory committee has been formed with senior leader Prasanna Acharya as its convenor, a membership drive committee has also been constituted with 22 members and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak as convenor.
Similarly, the party has also formed a programme implementation committee with Sanjay Das Burma as its convenor. The committee has 21 members. Details of the committees:
