Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday appointed party in-charge for the Pipili byelection.
Four senior leaders of the party have been given the responsibility by the BJD president.
They are BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra, BJD’s Pipili bypoll observer Pratap Deb, former legislator Maheswar Mohanty and State Planning Board’s Deputy Chairman Sanjay Dasburma.
The byelection for Pipili is scheduled on April 17 and March 30 was the last date for filing of nominations. The papers will be scrutinised today and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 3.
