BJD Leader Again Targets Dharmendra Over Hazardous NH-55 Ahead Of Odisha Elections

Bhubaneswar: Taking a dig at senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra, BJD heavyweight Pranab Prakash Das on Thursday drew a comparison between a road built by the Odisha government and National Highway No. 55.

Das, who is the organisational secretary of ruling Biju Janata Dal, posted two pictures of Biju Expressway and NH-55 on his X handle to bring home the point that the road built by the state government is maintained well.

Drawing the attention of Dharmendra, he said Biju Expressway, built and maintained by the state government, is one of the best roads in the country.

On the other hand, NH-55 is in a precarious condition though Dharmendra has been a Union Minister for the last 10 years, the BJD leader said, claiming that more than 200 people have lost their lives in more than 400 accidents in the last 5 years.

“I can feel the anger in the minds of the locals, particularly the people of Sambalpur for this dire situation,” Das said.

It may be noted here that Dharmendra and Das have been fielded by BJP and BJD respectively to contest the upcoming elections from Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency.

Earlier also, the BJD leader had made a similar attack on the Union Minister accusing him of having failed to take necessary steps for expediting the NH-55 work.
