BJD Leader Arun Sahoo’s Close Aide Among 4 Arrested Over Murderous Attack On Family In Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Four persons, including a close aide of senior BJD leader Arun Sahoo, were arrested in connection with the murderous attack on the members of a family at a village in Odisha’s Nayagarh district.

As per preliminary information, the police have arrested the four for their alleged involvement in the incident that took place at Chandibasta village under the jurisdiction of Nayagarh Town police station on Monday. Four members of a family were critically injured in the attack, stated to have been made by BJD supporters.

Sources said former Minister Arun Sahoo’s close aide Samir Biswal was stated to be among the four arrested persons. The arrest was made after police teams conducted raids at various places.

It may be noted that four members of a family were grievously injured after being allegedly attacked by BJD workers over political enmity.

It was alleged that several BJD workers attacked the members of the family, stated to be supporters of BJP, with sharp weapons on Monday. Four members of the family were critically injured in the attack.

The injured were initially rushed to Nayagarh hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar as their condition deteriorated.

Locals said the clash was the outcome of political rivalry and financial disputes between the two parties. Both the groups were engaged in bitter altercations on several occasions earlier.
