Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader Pradeep Maharathy, who passed away at a private hospital in the wee hours of Sunday, will be cremated with full state honours at Swargadwar in Puri on Sunday afternoon.
After his death, the body of the 65-year-old leader was brought to his official residence where leaders cutting across party lines paid their last respects to the departed soul. The body was later taken to the State Assembly premises where several leaders including the Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro paid tribute.
Family sources said that the body of Maharathy will be taken to his farmhouse at Pipili where the people of his constituency will pay their last tributes. From there, the body will be taken to Swargadwar in Puri for cremation in the afternoon.
