BJD Leader Pravat Biswal Discharged From Delhi Hospital

New Delhi: Senior BJD leader and Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Biswal was discharged from the Indian Spinal Injury Centre in New Delhi on Sunday.

Biswal was admitted to the Centre on July 7 after the doctors at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack found injuries in his spine during CT Scan on June 2.

“I am feeling much better now and will return to Odisha after staying at the Odisha Niwas in New Delhi for some days,” Biswal told mediapersons after being discharged from the centre.

Biswal was arrested by the CBI from his Mahanadi Vihar residence in Cuttack for his alleged complicity in the scam, on September 19 last year. He was under the lens for a deal between his wife Laxmi Bilasini Biswal and Seashore Group CMD Prashant Dash over a piece of land at Benapur mouza in Jajpur district.

The Special CBI Court in Bhubaneswar and the District Judge and Sessions Court had earlier rejected Biswal’s bail pleas following which he was remanded to judicial custody.

As his health condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Capital Hospital on September 25 and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here on a recommendation of a panel of doctors comprising of Orthopaedic, Medicine, Surgery and Cardiology specialists.

However, the Orissa High Court had granted conditional bail to Biswal on June 26 this year.
