Ganjam: A man was shot dead by unidentified miscreants near College Square at Aska in Ganjam district on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Sadanand Lenka (50).
According to sources, Sadanand was a BJD leader and elder brother of Kharia Panchayat Sarapanch Arabinda Lenka. The incident took place when Sadanand was returning home in a motorcycle at around 10.30 pm. Some bike-borne miscreants shot him in his head. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body. The attack is being attributed to a possible past enmity. Investigation is underway.
