Bhubaneswar: Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and Odisha MLA Bhupinder Singh’s car was involved in a road accident in the state capital. Following the mishap, Singh has given a clarification regarding the incident.
Singh, who represents Narla Assembly constituency in Kalahandi district, said that he was not travelling in the vehicle when it met with an accident on Monday evening.
Stating that his driver had taken the car to pick up his grandson in the evening when another vehicle dashed against it from the rear near Kharvela Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar.
Singh said that his son advised the driver to lodge a complaint with the police in order to facilitate insurance claim for the damage caused to the vehicle.
Though the man who was driving the other vehicle admitted his mistake and expressed his willingness to compensate for the damage, his offer was declined, the legislator said.
