Jharsuguda: Veteran politician and BJD legislator Kishore Mohanty passed away due to cardiac arrest on Thursday. He was 63.
According to sources, Mohanty, who represented Brajarajnagar constituency, fell sick in the evening and was admitted in a private hospital in Jharsuguda. He died in the hospital during treatment.
Mohanty was elected as MLA from Jharsuguda thrice and contested from Brajarajnagar seat in 2019 elections. He was elected as MLA for first time in 1990.
Mohanty was also the speaker of the Assembly between August 2008 and May 2009.
