BJD MLA Pravat Biswal shifted to SCB for better treatment

Bhubaneswar: BJD’s Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Biswal, who is currently in judicial custody, was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Monday. He had been undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital here since Friday.

Hospital superintendent Chitta Ranjan Dash said, “Our team of specialists found major problem in his waist as he had undergone a back surgery recently. They advised that he be shifted to SCB for better treatment of ‘nerve compression’ at Neurology and Gastroenterology departments of the hospital.”

Meanwhile, the MLA’s counsel Anup Patnaik has moved Khurda District and Sessions Court seeking bail. On Saturday, the Special CJM CBI court had rejected his bail petition and sent him to Jharpada jail. However, he was admitted to Capital Hospital after preliminary health examination by doctors in the jail.

The BJD legislator was arrested on Septemebr 19 in connection with an alleged dubious land deal involving Seashore Group of Companies.
