Bhubaneswar: The BJD on Sunday moved the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Bhubaneswar, demanding strict action against three Indian Railways employees for allegedly violating model code of conduct (MCC) by attending a recent BJP meeting at Bodapokharia village under Tangi block in Odisha’s Khurda.
According to written complaint, the employees of Khurda division, Inspector of Works (IOW) B B Mohanty and Travelling Ticket Inspectors (TTI) S R Patnaik and Prabhakar Baral, participated in the meeting organised by Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev on March 29.
Attaching a photograph of the officials at the meeting, the BJD alleged that it is a gross violation of model code of conduct (MCC) laid out by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The MCC forbids government employees from promoting a political party or involving in any political activity.
