Cuttack: Actor-turned politician Anubhav Mohanty’s father Abhay Mohanty passed away in Odisha’s Cuttack on Thursday following prolonged illness. He was 74.
Mohanty, who was undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments for quite some time, breathed his last at his residence at Nandi Sahi here, family sources said.
He recently had a kidney transplantation at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Ollywood actor Anubhav, a Lok Sabha member from Kendrapada, had also shared information about his father’s ill health on social media. He had also prayed for his recovery.
As the news of Abhay Mohanty’s demise spread, family members, relatives and well-wishers visited his residence to have last glimpse of the departed soul.
Mohanty, who was in teaching profession, had earlier retired from Kandarpur College.
