BJD Poll Manifesto Will Be Realistic: Soumya Ranjan

Bhubaneswar: BJD Rajya Sabha member Soumya Ranjan Patnaik on Thursday claimed that the poll manifesto of his party will be realistic.

“Our manifesto will be completely different from that of other political parties. The other parties will have alluring promises to attract people. The BJD will not step into their shoes and come up with a realistic manifesto which will be accepted by all,” Soumya Ranjan told the media after attending a preliminary meeting of the party for preparing poll manifesto.

He said his party will have a final meeting on March 23 when the manifesto will be prepared.

Taking a dig at the BJP for the delay in announcing candidates for Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, Soumya Ranjan said the saffron party had been inducting leaders quitting the BJD. “The BJP cannot contest the polls if we do not announce the name of our candidates and secretly allot them the ticket,” he maintained.

To a question on whether the leaders quitting the BJD will create problems for the party, Soumya Ranjan said since the people like Naveen Patnaik, they will give the vote for BJD.
