BJD To Raise Mahanadi, Polavaram Issues In Parliament

Following a meeting of the BJD MPs presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence here on Thursday, Kalikesh said, “Strategies were discussed to reiterate the state’s demand for constituting a tribunal to settle the Mahanadi dispute, besides putting pressure on the Centre to begin construction of the second bridge over Brahmani river in Parliament.”

“The Central Government has rejected the state government’s demand for hike in the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy stating that it was not feasible. As the move is against the farming community of Odisha, it has been decided to raise the issue during the session,” he added.

The meeting was attended by all the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members.
