Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal on Friday targeted senior BJP leader and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the issue of the four-year report card of his government at the Centre.
At a press meet here, BJD leader Sanjay Dasburma said the Union minister is trying to mislead the people of Odisha by providing wrong information.
“The statement on the Central assistance to the state by the Centre which the Union minister had given yesterday is grossly misleading,” he pointed out.
He further said that the Union minister, instead of highlighting the report card, should clarify the stand of the Centre on according special category status to Odisha.
“Pradhan should also seek the appointment of the prime minister to discuss the demand of the state government on the hike in the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy,” he suggested.
The BJD leader further wanted to know whether the Union minister would make effort to include Odisha in the industrial corridors as planned by the Centre.
Referring to the Mahanadi issue, he sought a clarification from the Union minister on whether he would advise the Chhattisgarh government to stop construction of barrages on the upstream of the river.
“Besides, will the Union minister be able to allow the people of Odisha to heave a sigh of relief by bringing down the fuel price,” Dasburma asked.
