Koraput/Nabarangpur: Mounting a scathing attack on Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government, BJP leader and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday claimed the regional party is treating tribals as a vote bank without working for their progress.
While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre has been working for the development of all for the last ten years, BJD has been neglecting the weaker sections for the last 25 years, Sai claimed.
The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister was speaking at election rallies in tribal dominated Koraput and Nabarangpur to campaign for BJP candidates for the first phase of polls in Odisha on May 13.
Accusing the BJD government of not implementing many Central schemes including the Ayushman Bharat in Odisha, he said the people of the state who are now deprived of the benefits of these programmes will get all facilities once BJP’s double-engine government is put in place.
Coming down heavily on the BJD government, Sai accused it of changing the names of the housing schemes to mislead people. Development of Odisha will be accelerated if BJP comes to power in the state.
The senior leader further claimed that the trust of the people in the BJP as well as the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has grown exponentially in Odisha and in the country
n the last 10 years, the Prime Minister has worked for the development of the rural poor, farmers and labourers among the 140 crore people and treated all as his family.
“Pucca houses were provided to the poor while gas cylinders were supplied to women in villages. Bank accounts were opened for each family. Electricity and water were supplied to most households. People in Odisha are impressed by the development agenda of the Prime Minister. In the upcoming elections, the BJP will register victory in the Assembly polls,” he observed.
