Bhubaneswar: The women’s wing of the ruling BJD has decided to staged a massive demonstration before Raj Bhawan here on August 4, demanding immediate withdrawal of the Centre’s decision to do away with LPG subsidy by increasing the price of a cylinder by Rs 4 every month till March.
“The party members will stage a dharna before Raj Bhawan and submit a memorandum to the Governor seeking his intervention in the matter. Separate demonstrations and protest meetings will be organised at every district headquarters of the state on August 8,” informed BJD women’s wing president Pramila Mallick.
She termed the move as anti-woman.
On Tuesday, BJD lawmakers had accused the BJP of cheating people after undertaken a public campaign to persuade women to use LPG instead of firewood.
