BYJD rally against V K Singh’s remarks on spl category tag for Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) took out a bike rally here on Wednesday to protest against Union Minister of State for External Affairs General V.K. Singh’s comments downplaying Odisha’s demand for special category status.
The rally from BJD state headquarters culminated at Raj Bhawan Square. The party activists later burnt the effigy of the Union Minister.
“We strongly condemn the statement of the Union Minister. He should apologize for his remarks on special category status to Odisha, failing which the BJD will stage protests in all 30 districts of the state,” said BYJD president Sanjay Das Burma.
They also submitted a memorandum to Governor Dr S C Jamir, seeking his immediate intervention in the matter.
