Bhubaneswar: The BJD on Wednesday announced launch of its social service wing with focus on plantation, blood donation and health assistance.
While flagging off Jansampark Padayatra on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at Kargil Basti near Bhimatangi here, party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the wing would strive for a clean, green and healthy Odisha.
The wing is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary, he added.
Naveen advised the party workers to connect with people and understand their problems during the Jansampark Padayatra, which will continue till October 11, and make them aware of the welfare measures of the government.
