BJP activists block road demanding arrest of party worker’s killer

Cuttack: Members of BJP’s OBC Cell blocked national highways at various places on Friday
demanding arrest of the main accused in the murder of party worker Abhimanyu Das.
The blockades were staged on NH-16 in Cuttack, NH-55 at Angul and NH-20 in Keonjhar from 9 am to 10 am. Besides, a group of protestors held a massive demonstration and later blocked Do Chakki area in Paradip.
The BJP activists threatened to intensify the stir if the main accused in the case was not arrested at the earliest.
Abhimanyu, who was block president of the BJP’s OBC cell at Binjharpur in Jajpur district, died in a bomb attack at Naunbanka in July this year.
Binjharpur police had arrested one Purna Chandra Sahu alias Punia from Chhatia for his alleged involvement in the case. However, the saffron party accused the BJD of having conspired to kill Abhimanyu with help of contract killers.
