Brajarajnagar: The personal security officer of Brajarajnagar MLA Radharani Panda was allegedly assaulted by a group of persons near a booth in Jharsuguda district while polling was underway for second-phase elections in Odisha on Thursday.
According to sources, Panda was on her way to booth no-182 in ward no-4 at Ganganagar under Brajarajnagar municipality when a group of people suddenly attacked her security officer. He sustained injuries in his head and was rushed to the government hospital.
Talking to the media later, Panda alleged that the BJD supporters had attacked her security guard.
“I have apprised Jharsuguda SP of the incident and demanded an investigation and action against the BJD supporters,” she added.
