BJP Corporators Stage Walkout During BMC Meeting In Bhubaneswar; Know Why

Bhubaneswar: BJP corporators staged a walkout during a meeting of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday alleging partiality.

Alleging that their queries were deliberately ignored during the budget presentation at the meeting held at new BMC building, they said the manner in which the proceedings were conducted showed partiality.

The BJP corporators also staged a sit-in at the office alleging that the members of the ruling BJD did not allow them to raise any issue during the meeting.

The agitating BJP corporators also protested Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi not being invited to the new building’s inaugural function on February 16.

Hitting out at Mayor Sulochana Das, the agitating corporators wanted to know why the BJP MP was forgotten when all the MLAs from Bhubaneswar were invited to the event.

The corporation meeting, held under the chairmanship of Mayor Sulochana Das, was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Commissioner and all corporators.

While the budget for 2023-24 was being presented, the BJP corporators staged a walkout.
