Puri: The BJP on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into the custodial death of a youth K Ramesh and Section 302 of the IPC against the police.
In a press briefing, Puri MLA Jayant Sarangi said while the post-mortem report has clearly stated that the death of Ramesh in police custody was due to severe thrashing, why has a case under Section 302 of the IPC not been framed against the police till date.
Maintaining that the judicial probe ordered by the state government into the incident will yield no results, Sarangi said the CBI probe will reveal the details.
