Bhubaneswar: The massive irregularities reported in the Odisha Khadi and Gramodyog Board (OKGB) rocked the Odisha Assembly on Saturday with the Opposition BJP demanding a probe into the scam.
Raising the issue during zero hour, leader of the Opposition Pradipta Naik said the Centre has provided financial assistance of Rs 86 crore to the Khadi Board to train beekeepers and give them beehive kits.
While 1,200 beekeepers have been trained in the past three years, the Board has provided 2,480 beehive kits so far, Nayak said.
He said that while supplying the beehive kits, instead of receiving Rs 1000 as quotation from each beekeeper, the Board has collected Rs 30,000. He pleaded with the Speaker to order a thorough investigation into the irregularities immediately.
