New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has fired another salvo at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), comparing the saffron party to a ‘serial killer’.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor was referring to the ‘toppling’ of non-BJP governments in a number of states.
Claiming that the BJP have toppled governments in states like Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya, Kejriwal said: “There is a serial killer in the city who is committing one murder after the other. People choose a government, they topple it.”
And now, vested interests are trying to bring down the Delhi government, he stated.
Addressing a special Assembly session, Kejriwal said, “We’ve calculated that 277 MLAs have come to their party (BJP). Now if they would have given Rs 20 crore to each of them, then they’ve bought MLAs worth Rs 5,500 crore. That’s why there’s inflation as they’re using all the money to buy MLAs at expense of common man.”
The CM informed that the AAP government will table a ‘bring confidence’ motion on Monday.
Hitting out against BJP for the raid at Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s residence in connection with the liquor policy, Kejriwal said: “The raid continued for 14 hours, but not a single penny was found. No jewellery was found, no cash was found, no documents of any land or property were found and no incriminating document was found – nothing was found. It was a false raid.”
Attributing the recent ED and CBI raids on his party to the upcoming Assembly polls in Gujarat, where AAP is seeking to make its presence felt, Kejriwal remarked that the BJP’s Gujarat fortress in the western state is under threat and crumbling.
