Cuttack: A BJP leader was allegedly murdered by some unidentified miscreants in the district on Saturday evening.
According to police sources, while the BJP leader Kulamani Baral was going with one of his associates Pancha Baral along Nrutanga canal under Mahanga police limits, the miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons.
Kulamani, former Mahanga block chairman, died on the spot. Pancha, who sustained critical injuries in the attack, was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, here.
Mahanga police have registered a case and started investigation.
