BJP Leader Injured In Attack By Miscreants

Paradip: A local BJP leader was seriously injured after he was attacked by a group of tipsy youths near Madhuban Cabin Market at Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district late on Thursday night.

Sources said Paradip BJP Mandal President Kailash Sahu was on the way to his house from his office chamber near Madhuban Cabin Market after finishing his duty when he found 5-6 youths shouting with obscene language under the influence of liquor. As Sahu tried to restrain them, the tipsy youths suddenly attacked him with wooden sticks. As Sahu shouted for help, locals rushed to the spot.

He was rushed to the Biju Memorial Hospital with severe head injuries. But as his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Meanwhile, Paradip Police has started investigation into the incident. Efforts are on to nab the culprits.
