BJP Leader Purandeswari Accuses BJD Govt In Odisha Of Total Misrule

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit in-charge of BJP Daggubati Purandeswari on Saturday came down heavily on BJD government in the state for failing to deliver good governance.

Speaking to media here, the BJP leader said the ruling BJD has failed to meet its commitments made during election campaigns. The regional party is yet to fulfill its promise made in the 2014 and 2019 elections of providing pucca houses to all in the state.

Questioning the integrity of the state government, she said its own healthcare scheme Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana for the poor beneficiaries has failed to deliver while it is not implementing the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Odisha.

On the piped drinking water project, Purandareswari said while the people of 1250 villages in the state are still deprived of drinking water, 1500 villages are yet to get a pipeline connection.

Stating that there were multiple scams in Odisha like the coal scam, forest scam, chit fund, land scam, she said, “It is total misrule in the state.”

Claiming that law and order have collapsed in the state, the BJP leader said 5303 children have gone missing in the last few months while the security of women is at stake. What type of safety is the chief minister talking about, she asked.

On the Pari murder case in Nayagarh, she said the chief minister is protecting the accused Arun Sahoo who is a member of his Cabinet instead of taking action against him. Besides the main accused is shielded by Sahoo and no action has been taken by the CM in this regard so far.

“The chief minister has been saying that the 4.5 crore people of  Odisha are his family and he would protect them. Is five-year-old girl ‘Pari’ not among those people?,” Purandeswari asked.
