BJP Leader Won’t Allow India’s First Sologamy Marriage In Temple; Why?

New Delhi: India’s first sologamy marriage will not take place without hiccups it seems. Reacting strongly to Vadodara’s 24-year-old Kshama Bindu’s decision to marry herself on June 11, BJP city unit’s deputy chief Sunita Shukla said, “If she is getting married at a temple, we can’t let her do that.” “Such marriages are against Hinduism,” she added.

Sunita Shukla said that “Bindu is mentally ill”. She said that nowhere in Hindu culture is it written that a boy can marry a boy or a girl can marry a girl. “I’m against the choice of venue, she’ll not be allowed to marry herself in any temple. Such marriages are against Hinduism. This will reduce the population of Hindus. If anything goes against religion, then no law will prevail.” India Today quoted Sunita Shukla as saying.

It may be recalled Sociology graduate Kshama who is currently working as a senior recruitment officer for a private company had announced that she is so fond of herself that she doesn’t wish to marry anyone else. She decided to be her own groom and take marriage vows. Both her parents are engineers. Her father is in South Africa and her mother stays in Ahmedabad.
