Bhubaneswar: Members of the state BJP Mahila Morcha on Saturday sought the intervention of Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal to check the rising cases of violence against women in Odisha.
BJP Mahila Morcha president Pravati Parida, who led the delegation, said the state government has failed to implement the Vishakha Guidelines, a Supreme Court ruling aimed to prevent sexual harassment of women.
Stating that the Paree Rath campaign launched recently by the state government to prevent violence against women is an eyewash, Parida demanded that immediate steps should be initiated to curb the growing atrocities against women and children.
