Puri: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members assembled on Monday near the Jagannath temple in Puri to pray for Union Home minister Amit Shah, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Gurugram.
BJP Puri district president Ashrit Pattnayak and MLA Jayant Kumar Sarangi lit oil lamps at around 11 am in front of the Jagannath temple, in the presence of other Puri BJP members.
Among others present were ex-BJP Puri district president and current state executive member Prabhanjan Mahapatra, senior servitor Madhusudan Singhari, Puri district BJYM president Jayant Dash.
“We just want Amit Shah Ji to heal as soon as possible. He loves Lord Jagannath and so does the Lord,” said the party’s IT & Media Cell in-charge Snehasis Dash.
