BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi Voices Concern After BJD Leader’s Statement On Odisha CM’s ‘Inability’ To Move Around

Bhubaneswar: With BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi’s allegation about a secretary level officer ‘hijacking’ governance in Odisha triggering a row, opposition political parties have intensified their attack on the BJD government on the issue.

While the ruling BJD claimed that the IAS officer’s initiative is accelerating development in the state, leaders of both BJP and Congrgress have sharpened their attack on Naveen Patnaik government on the issue.

The opposition parties claim that the 5T secretary’s whirlwind tours and back-to-back meetings across the state had virtually made the elected leaders including Ministers mute slectators.

In the midst of a stormy debate over the issue, Aparajita on Monday referred to senior BJD leader and former Minister Prafulla Samal’s statement on the issue to slam the ruling party.

Responding to queries from media, Samal had on Sunday said since the Chief Minister is not able to move out so much, he is sending his secretary for different works.

While the opposition got fresh ammo from Samal’s statement to intensify the attack on the ruling BJD, Aparajita also took to Twitter and raised questions over the Chief Minister’s inability to move around and visit different places in the state

The firebrand BJP leader sought to know as to what has happened to the Chief Minister and restricted his movements. The parliamentarian also said that the people of Odisha would like to know the reason behind the CM’s inability.

“Saw the response of Sri Prafulla Samal Ji, senior BJD leader & ex-Minister Yesterday about Hon’ble CM’s inability to move around the State,” Aparajita said in a tweet.

Describing the matter as serious, Aparajita said, “We are concerned.” She asked, “Why this inability? What has happened?” and added that the “People of Odisha would like to know the reason”.

Senior leaders of BJD and Prafulla Samal were not immediately available to comment on the issue.
