Bhubaneswar: National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Baijayant Panda, who is also Lok Sabha MP from Odisha’s Kendrapada, underwent a follow up surgery on his left eye on Friday.
Panda’s office said in a post on X handle that the BJP leader had suffered a serious injury in his eye two months ago during the election campaign and undergone an emergency surgery.
“The medical team has conveyed that today’s surgery was successful and he is recovering well,” it said.
It may be noted that following the surgery conducted on his left eye two months ago, Panda was not able to take part in the election campaign for a few days and he was under medical observation.
