Bhubaneswar: National president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J P Nadda is slated to undertake a visit to Odisha on August 18 to attend a training session for the party MLAs in the state.
According to sources, Nadda, who is also Union Health Minister, is scheduled to address the BJP legislators at the training programme during his one-day visit to the state.
The BJP chief is likely to give important tips to the party MLAs, many of whom have been elected to the Assembly for the first time, on how to handle the issues being raised in the House.
Nadda’s address to the legislators will be of considerable significance as the training session is being held before the commencement of the second phase of the budget session of the state Assembly.
The BJP chief is also likely to hold discussion with senior party leaders of the state, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other Ministers, regarding future plans to further strengthen the organisation in the state. He is also likely to discuss strategies to ensure effective functioning of the party government in the state.
Sources said an important meeting of the core committee of the party is likely to be held ahead of Nadda’s one-day visit to the state.
Nadda and the state BJP leaders are likely to discuss a roadmap on the prevailing political situation and other crucial issues along with welfare programmes of the party government.
It may be noted that Nadda had last visited Odisha last month to attend the state party unit’s executive committee meeting held in Puri. He also addressed the two-day meet, Odisha BJP’s first executive committee meeting held after the party formed its government in the state.
