Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha member and national spokesperson of BJD Amar Patnaik has come under severe criticism from BJP for his statement on Covaxin.
Describing his statement on the vaccine as anti-national, state general secretary of the saffron party Lekhashree Samantasinghar urged Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik to expel him from the party.
Worthwhile to mention here that the BJD MP had said that Indians administered with the vaccine are not allowed to travel to other countries.
Samantasinghar has reacted sharply to BJD MP’s statement that people going abroad are facing problem due to the country’s faulty vaccine policy. She said there was no such condition set by WHO nor any other country on foreign trips on those who have taken Covaxin jab.
Describing the statement on the vaccine as an insult to the nation as well as to the scientists who have developed it, she said this has created panic among the people.
The BJP leader asked the BJD MP to clarify whether he had taken Covaxin jab to protect him from deadly coronavirus. “If he has taken the two doses of the vaccine then he must answer as to why he created panic among the people through his careless statements,” she added.
Samatasinghar said the BJD supremo had taken exemplary action against erring party leaders in the past and urged him to do so this time against the MP for his misleading statement.
