Bhubaneswar: The State BJP on Friday formed three teams, which will visit the cyclone and flood-affected districts of Ganjam and Gajapati on Saturday.
Announcing this at a press briefing here, State BJP president Basanta Panda, said the party’s state vice-president Samir Mohanty, will lead a team of representatives of BJP State OBC Morcha to Aska in Ganjam district and the state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan will lead a team of representatives of the BJP State Yuva Morcha to Ganjam district, while the state general secretary, Prithviraj Harichandan will lead a team of representatives of the BJP State Krushak Morcha to Gajapati district.
During the visit, the teams will assess the extent of damage rendered by the cyclonic storm and the flood and interact with the people about their problems and solutions.
Coming down heavily on the state government, Panda said the ruling party, in an attempt to cover up its gross apathy and failure in the relief and rescue operations despite the early warning of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), has remained silent by providing misleading statements to the media.
“Since the situation in these districts is contrary to the information provided by the state government to the media, we have decided to send our teams to these districts for a ground zero survey,” he pointed out.
