Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Bargarh MP, Suresh Pujari on Sunday requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to take necessary steps to convert the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) into a city hospital with adequate doctors and para-medical staff with round-the-clock service.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Pujari said the new complex of the DHH of Bargarh was inaugurated at Tukurla of Bhatli Block but as it is about 10 km away from Bargarh town, patients coming to the hospital from different locations are facing difficulty due to lack of communication facilities. The only bus plying from the town to the new location will not serve the purpose, he pointed out.
Welcoming the announcement for a stage-3 cancer hospital in Bargarh, Pujari said that taking into account the magnitude of the cancer menace in the district, the state government should go in for a full-fledged ultra-modern cancer hospital-cum-research institute to cater to the needs of not only Bargarh but also entire western Odisha.
