Bhubaneswar: Newly appointed Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal on Sunday asserted that a party government will be installed in the state after the 2024 elections wth the help of people, who are fed up with the dismal show of BJD in last 23 years.

Three days after being appointed Odisha BJP chief, Samal was accorded a grand welcome when he reached the party head office in Bhubaneswar. As he travelled to Odisha capital from Bhadrak, Samal was greeted by people at different places including Panikoili and Cuttack.

Prominent among those present at the programme in the state capital were BJP national vice president Baijayant Panda, state party in-charge D Purandeswari, leader of opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra, former Union Minister Pratap Sarangi.

Mounting a blistering attack on Naveen Patnaik government, senior BJP leaders including Samal said BJD will be ousted from power after the next elections. “The notice period of ruling govt begins. Samal will not only run the party with his experience but also bring it to the power,” said Baijayant Panda.

Assembly elections are due in Odisha simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

Claiming that people of the state are desperately looking for an alternative, Samal said, “Our team will ensure that the BJP comes to power in Odisha after 2024 elections.

Speaking to reporters at Cuttack on his way to Bhubaneswar, Samal said people of the state will ensure that the BJD government is dislodged in the next elections. He voiced confidence that the party will show impressive results in the  elections by strengthening the organisation.

The new state BJP president further claimed that the mystery surrounding the sensational murder of Naba Kishore Das will be cracked and truth exposed when the saffron party comes to power in Odisha.

Claiming that people have already made up their mind to bring BJP to power in Odisha, he said common people of the state will fight the elections, and the party take all steps to fulfill their dream.

“This time it will be a historic election in which 4.5 crore people of the state will fight against injustice, tyranny, atrocities, exploitation and corruption,” the state BJP chief said, adding that discontent among the people has reached an explosive state.

Claiming that people are impressed with the performance of the Centre, Samal said 91 per cent of the people are in favour of Narendra Modi’s leadership.
