Berhampur: A BJP worker was killed and another seriously injured in an attack by a group of rival youths on Badaborsing-Khariguda road under Gangapur police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
As per sources, the deceased was identified as Amar Rout (25) of Kaliaguda, while Sibaram Pradhan of the same village sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by around 15 youths with sticks and other weapons on Tuesday night.
On getting information, Amar’s father reached the spot and took both to the Sub Divisional Headquarters Hospital at Bhanjanagar by 108 ambulance.
While Amar succumbed to his injury at the hospital, Sibaram was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. His condition is stated to be critical, MKCG sources said.
Amar’s father alleged that BJD supporters have attacked the two due to political enmity. “Amar and Sibaram both were in BJD earlier and they joined BJP recently due to some difference of opinions,” he claimed.
