Bargarh: Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BYJM) Odisha Unit secretary Irasis Acharya was arrested on Thursday in connection with a firing incident that had taken place at Bhatli in Bargarh district.
Bargarh Town police had earlier summoned him for interrogation in connection with the case .
Protesting against the arrest of the party leader, a group of BYJM activists staged a demonstration in front of the police station.
On June 1, Bulu Satnami (18) of Chamarpada in Sohela area of the district had died after being shot in the head in front of the BJP office near Acharya’s residence at Bhatli.
He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition and succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to VIMSAR in Burla.
